A long time family favourite for family meals and celebrations. We love how Antonio and his staff look after their diners. Fresh, classic Italian food and great wine. The specials board is updated during the week with seasonal plates. Portions are generous and often there’s not too much room for dessert. But if you do, ask for the Limoncello ice cream. It’s not on the menu, but known by locals so sells out quickly. It’s not made in house, but is great. Busy on weekends and Friday/Saturday nights so always good to call ahead. sophielovesfood.com

Not great. I must stress I have rarely had a memorable meal in any Italian resteraunt, except suprisingly chain places like Kitchen Italia and jamies Italian and Strada. This place is quite `plush’ and I was informed I could only stay for 1 hour as a lone diner on a saturday evening. Fair enough but a tad rude, I at least expected great food. Instead, the food was ok, average. But really expensive. I chose king prawn in wine sauce starter and dover sole main. The prawns were ok but had better in a place in Staines. The sole was a generous portion but the veg and potatoe side was bland and I left it. I was still so hungry I was tempted to go to the great indian place a 10 minute walk away (Monsoon) but wanted an early night so opted for another dish here. I opted for the scallops. Mistake. They were almost raw. I was also brought an extra glass of wine I never asked for but had to pay for. The place was packed, mainly with older people, but the busyness is not justifoed, i wont return. Still hungry too!
