What: Potbelly Sandwich for LunchWhere: Westfield Stratford, London, UKThe Dish: A WreckRead more…Value: 5ppFood Review: Potbelly began in Chicago and has arrived to London to display its array of sandwiches and salads and in true American style cookies and milkshakes. While you can make your own, Potbelly also has option choices already made and with a name like the Wreck, i couldn’t resist. A Wreck is for the meat-eaters consisting of Turkey, Salami and Roast Beef alongside any salad ingredients. With soft, toasted bread and a overload of fillings (you don’t have to) this sandwich store is the great choice for a quick lunch stop. Sober Status: No Alcohol is served on site. Drinks on offer are thick milkshakes, cold and hot drinksWhen I next visit I would have: Cookies and MilkshakesHalal: YesLocation Review: Located in Westfield Stratford on the Street, there is outdoor seating aswell as indoor. Within walking distance of public transport and easy to find within the Shopping centre. Interior Review: Inside consists of counters on the left and seats on the right with a variety of single, double and 4 person seating areas including plug sockets (Yay!) The Service: It is self-service and easy to order from the menu displayed above and helpful staff to help out.Sum up: Delicious quick bite whether for lunch of an afternoon treat sobernstarving.com
@potbelly_uk are not renowned just for their gourmet sandwiches, they are also acclaimed for their cookies. The Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie and Vanilla Ice Cream sandwich was a taste sensation. The cookie was soft, gooey and luxuriously moist, with the sweet confection from the chocolate chip seducing the palate into submission. But the addition of the vanilla ice cream truly turned this into an epicurean experience. Full review of @potbelly_uk, with lots of pictures & recommendations is now available on our website. First off. Potbelly is an all Halal menu which accounts for at least 1 of my 5 stars in this review 😛 But please, try to ignore my Halal bias before you read on. With that put to bed – I’d describe Potbelly as a fun more rounded old Americana take on Subway. Read that as more upmarket than Subway; not that I’m a Subway snob, I’ve got near 4k points on my SubCard. Get in. The menu is not as busy as that of Subway but maybe a little bit bewildering for first time visitors. The staff behind the counter? Very friendly with gentle encouragement and prompts to get you started on your order. You get to choose from white or brown bread with a selection of filling options from the menu (split by sections titled ‘Legends’, ‘Favourites’ and ‘Skinnies’) to choose from to which you add toppings and a limited selection of dressings. The whole thing goes on a conveyor belt style toaster after the bread has been cut in half and your filling choice piled on. It comes out the other side where your toppings and dressings are loaded up. I went for ‘A Wreck’ and my good lady went for the ‘Buffalo Chicken’. My sandwich is listed at the top of Potbelly’s menu in the ‘Legends’ section. With good reason. It’s awesome. Better than wifey’s order. As in wife and I agreed it was the better sandwich. The meat was just right. Not dry at all. And the ranch dressing had just the slightest kick to it just how I like it. Wife wants a second visit. The ‘Banana Shake’ on the side ?? Best shake I’ve had in ages. Zero exaggeration. I used to be a scout. I don’t lie. About food. And non-alcoholic drinks. So I’ll repeat. Best shake I’ve had in ages. The decor at Potbelly is retro with lots of black and white photo’s of old Chicago. Also they had live music going on. From what I could tell. It’s a dedicated thing i.e. different singers on different days / weekends. To round off … I’m going again. Next time my wife drags me to Stratford Westfield.
I was fortunate to notice your shop sign and glad I followed it. I was pleasantly surprised by the service received from your staff last Saturday lunch time. Then came the food! Superbly prepared. Good value for money. I shall return and definitely recommend Potbelly. Excellent experience.Well done!Kay
