It’s always good when you have good simple food in a garden terrace. I tried the jerk beef and curry chicken which just felt like some grandma had made them in the kitchen. One of those places where you just feel that you’re loved as the food just tastes so good!!The place and the people working there have a fantastic informal calm vibe a nice break from the city’s stresses and rush if you ask me!

FANTASTIC. What a brilliant find! The food was fantastic: great variety, packed with flavour, and more than we could eat. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with a great staff dynamic and the final bill was an absolute bargain. We will definitely be going back again and again!

Amazing food, lovely vibe, great company. I’ve never written a review for a restaurant before but after eating at Negril’s yesterday, I felt inspired to do so. Me and a couple of friends dropped by late on a Saturday afternoon/early evening with no booking. The food was amazing: we shared the Negril platter with jerk chicken and barbecue ribs, with a mix bean roti wrap. It was all seriously good but especially the ribs and the plantain. Watch out for the spicy sauce – genuinely hot. We also had a couple of the juices, which were refreshing and delicious. The service was great, laid-back, friendly. It came to fifteen quid per head, for a great meal in a lovely restaurant. Will definitely be going back many, many times.

Never thought i will sign just to give bad review!. Last summer i was there at least 3 times a month, loved the food and service was…. to be honest ok. Food was making up for it.Last month i went there, service was rude and chicken dry but as I really liked this place went there again last week and sadly have to say that was last time!Me and my partner notices chips where just not not good (old?) as we both notice it, i let waitress know. What surprise I had when she just took one chip and tried it 😮 Then she pulled face and said, they great but if you dont want them I take them back. Well I do want chips, but she refused to change them!!!! Looked at me and again said: You want it or not? WOW WOW WOW Im sorry Negrill you lost two good customers and I make sure never ever to recomend it to anyone. (I use to)

I can’t really see why everyone raves about this place so much. I live at the bottom of Brixton Hill and have been to Negril several times now. My main problem is the very poor service. They’re too laid-back and don’t have any sense of urgency when it comes to taking your order. I once walked out after waiting over 30 minutes, even after I had got up and told them I was ready to order. My friend foolishly waited over an hour before having their order taken. Not acceptable. The curry is good, sides are ok, but the Jerk Chicken didn’t taste of Jerk. I haven’t tried the Jerk sausages yet. Maybe I’ll go there for breakfast again, but the last time I went for breaky, it was another stupidly long wait. All they need to do is sort out the service and it’d be a decent place.

Tasty food great chilli…. Tasty food – not 100% authentic=not hot enough but great chilli sauce. Try the festival. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxing

Dry and took an age.. Waited an hour for our order to be taken, was told that I could order one of two platters or risk taking twice as long to get the food. Ordered a platter, waited an hour for the food. Dry chicken leg, dry rice, nothing impressive. At all.Good for young, white, middle class professionals sipping cans of red stripe.
