While this one has more ambience than the regular Wetherspoons, there is a definite air of mouldiness. The rates are super competitive and the hot food isn’t half bad (bean quorn and rice). But I just cannot shake off that decrepit feeling. And yet, to be completely honest, this remains an old favorite.
Cheap (and nasty). I don’t know quite what it is about Wetherspoons. This pub is grimy, the food is terrible, the service (if you get any at all) is hilarious. But where else can you get a meal for under a fiver and buy a pint costing less than three quid these days? This place served it’s purpose for me when I was poor student and, although terrible (they don’t even play music), I had some great drunken times here and I hope students continue to enjoy it.
