Awful experience. Service was poor and the food was worse. The waitress tried to pass mushrooms off as truffle and een brought our dirty plate back out to us and picked up bits from It to make her point. She was still wrong. It was unbelievably horrible.
Rushed service, indifferent food. Avoid Saturday nights; the place appeared unacceptably overcrowded, bordering on claustrophobic, with little space between tables and diners in order to accommodate the weekend throng. Service was rushed by agitated staff, the bolognese indifferent, the grilled fish tasteless. I know Saturday night is the big one for business, but the Italian Taste really needs to think of returning customers and not cram them in at the expense of quality and hospitality. We are short of decent evening Italian eateries in this part of the world, but this experience did little to entice me or my guests back for a second helping.
Just… ordinary. Not special at all. No fresh chilli, they use quick-cook pasta & had no pre-prepared chilli oil. Won’t be coming back. The Italian on Maple Road, Surbiton (5 mins walk from here is far, far superior)
Great!. I’ve been twice now and enjoyed great food on both occasions. I have to say, I preferred the decor before the face-lift, but really that’s a minor thing and I appreciate that they have to compete with the giant that is Zizzi who recently opened up next door. Staff all very polite and attentive. I shall return.
