While I’d agree that 20 is too low for 2 (which it always is for decent sushi in central London), the quality is excellent, the service attentive and the space nice and cozy

It’s one of the hidden jewels of the city. One of my favourite places to have awesome sushi with very cozy ambiance, an option to sit with folded legs & have that lovely warm evening with your loved one or friends. If you are lucky enough to be served by Samantha, not only your day would be made but, Kurumaya will become your favourite place too.

20 for two people? No. Not unless you’re satisfied with 4 single Nigiri’s and a drink. I found the sushi to be very poor quality and overpriced. Not good value for money at all. My rating is a little harsh, I must admit. However, I don’t respect the fact that Kuruyama falsely stated it was a 20 for 2 persons restaurant (when it’s clearly not), just to lure people in.

Great lunch place in the city. Went there with a friend for lunch in the city and loved the interior design as well as the food. Authentic and inexpensive place to eat Japanese a bento box.

An enjoyable meal. We were looking for a place to have dinner after wandering about One New Change at St Pauls and found the restaurant when searching on the mobile. There’s a sushi bar at ground level and the restaurant was in the basement. There was a lot on the menu and after spending a considerable time deciding, we ordered a soft shell crab maki (crispy and generous), sea urchin (wasn’t crunchy), grilled eel, a herbally chicken, beef and quail egg broth (warmingly nice on a cold rainy evening), a refreshing sea weed salad (can’t recall the name) and mochi for dessert. We were pleasantly surprised as we didn’t expect to enjoy the food very much. It was fresh and tasty and we were very full afterwards. A slight niggle was that the broth could do with less salt and the dessert selection could be much improved as the mochi was not made there (bought probably) and tasted a bit bland. Service was ok as there was only one waiter serving and it was quite hard to get his attention sometimes. I would recommend it and will definitely make an attempt to return again. Bill came to about 25-30 per person. (8.5/10)

Go somwehere else. Not worth it.. Its a pretty poor place. I ordered Soft Shell Crab roll – the soft shell crab was mushy, cold and obviously refrigirated instead of prepared right there and then. Ebi was supposed to be sweet prawn sashimi. Instead of it was just regular tiger prawns cut into chunks. Uni (sea urchin) was horrible. I know my uni, but I didnt recognize where those 2 peices came from. ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE CRUNCHY! Dont go there. Only if you are drunk or dont have anywhere else to go.
