This is a traditional takeaway sandwich shop and Italian cafe with a good selection of sandwich fillings on offer. The sandwiches are made to order and the cost is generally cheap. However, I have been charged different prices for the same thing – 4.20 for a (rather tasty) crayfish roll on one occasion and then 2.60 on the next! The price list for sandwich fillings is not displayed at the counter so you can’t be sure of the cost upfront.I have also eaten in. There is a varied menu of items including breakfast, pasta and chicken curry. I had a vegetarian breakfast. This was a typical greasy spoon fry up – a generous portion which saw me through to dinner time and cost just 5.50.I went for breakfast by myself and I will say that if you would feel uncomfortable sitting in a room that is exclusively full of working men (mainly building contractors), then this will not be the place for you! I was the only woman eating in but I guess it was fairly early and it was just the time :-)Piccolo Bar is worth a visit for a cheap and cheerful bite to eat. milliesfoodsymposium.wordpress.com
