This is a beautiful pub. Smaller than the outside lets on though. They’ve got a great pie selection and the ones I’ve had have been just great. Their steak and ale pie has won awards so they always keep it on the menu. They also do a pie taster platter with three of their pies paired with a beer/ale. The staff is very friendly. As is to be expected from the area, pies are about 15 and aren’t very big. You won’t leave hungry though! Try the duck pie while they have it!

I really loved this place. It was the best pub I visited when in London. I tried the honey drew because I don’t like beer but this was really sweet. To eat I tried some of the small plates and the cheesecake for dessert. I really recommend.

What a splendid ambience. When you walk into the place you get the feeling of walking into a tight lipped uppity English Bar. But, you soon realise from the patrons (many students from kings college) to the staff this place is cosy to catch with your friends. We ordered the lamb pie and the beef pie and both were hearty and enjoyable.

Came here based on the recommendation of a blog listing the best places to try meat pies in London… I was not disappointed! Old Bank of England is located in the financial district of London (Fleet Street – how fitting for a meat pie shop) not too far from the Royal Courts of Justice. The pub is beautiful inside, but there is no dress code necessary despite the fancy ambience. All orders, including food, are taken at the bar. I was greeted by a very pleasant server. Pies are delicious – fluffy pastry and a rich gravy. Get the traditional pie (I think the inside is just beef and onions), it will not disappoint.

For a chain pub (Fuller’s) this is an impressive place befitting of its history. The Old Bank of England is literally just that, and the interior is fairly opulent with a central bar, parquet flooring and chandeliers. The perfect venue to enjoy a pie and a pint in central London and I did just that. In fact, I sampled several pies on the tasting board and each little pastry present was a delightfully hearty treat.I highly recommend giving this pub a visit and the food and ales aren’t bad either, it even has some outside space for summer. londoncurryblog.com
