Like all the Nicholson’s pubs I’ve encountered Ye Olde Watling is very pretty. Another great thing about this chain is they are open on the weekends in the City when a walk through the desserted financial district is atmospheric.I can recommend the club sandwich. Nice thick slices of toasted artisanal bread, chunky chicken salad, a slice of back bacon as well as beef tomato and lettuce. Very fresh and clean tasting. Generous portion of accompanying homemade crisps were great too. Warm and not at all greasy, so deep fried at the correct temperature. I would order this again.
