Needs to get its act together. This is a wonderful Spanish restaurant, between Forest Hill and East Dulwich – but it need to get its act together. We’ve been several times and had great food and reasonable service. But on New Year’s Eve the food was average to poor and the service abysmal. This is a great shame, as there are few Spanish restaurants in this part of south-east London. The restaurant needs someone front of house who knows what they are doing and who knows how to look after customers.
Worst service ever. Went for New years eve and what a disappointment. I had prebooked the set nye menu, which included a glass of cava on entry, that didn’t happen, the man got confused and gave us the a la carte menu and struggled to understand our requests. Myself and partner waited about 30minutes just to get a drink and that was only after having to ask, after the waiter deserted us. The restaurant was not busy so there was no excuse for the complete lack of service.Everything we wanted from drinks, food to the bill had to be asked for by us, no service appalling. We were couped up onto a tiny table with our plates of tapas resulting in spilling drinks and using the window sill to put things because of the lack of space. We didn’t even get to finish the set menu or have our desert , because we had waited so long for our food that we had gone passed hungry and simply wanted to get of of there and enjoy what was left of our nye elsewhere.Over a hundred pound wasted, very unhappy worst nye experience yet.
Amazing veg paella! Tapas are really good also. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I will be visiting here again soon or making use of the take away menu.
Had a great meal there by choosing a set menu and a bottle of house white wine. Total bill was 70 for two with no desert. Food was good and plentiful. Could hardly breathe when we left for having eaten so much. Service from waitresses was terrific but head water guy was kind of miserable and abrupt. The atmosphere on a saturday night was a happy burble of a half full restaurant. Not as clattering and buzzing as Galicia in Croydon but I can never hear what people ard saying in there anyway. So overall a nice quiet Saturday night out for two people to chat and catch up with each other’s news and I’d definitely go back.
Truly authentic Spanish in fact better than many found in Spain. Nicely decorated in gaudi mosaic style and lovely antique mahogany pharmacy cabinets. Food superb with many great Spanish only wines. Celebrating their 20th year ! I am not surprised !!!
Very nice. Especially the pimentos de padron. Not keen on the lemon merrsngue pie. Good wine torres White. Jamin is good. Tom, nick and Mandy.
