After seeing some beautiful photos I thought I was going to have a great breakfast and actually got up earlier on a Sunday morning for nothing!More than half an hour waiting for this eggs… that only take a few minutes to make. I assisted people living their tables for the what it seems to be a delayed service in the kitchen! So many people working there but the service seems not good and completely disorganized. A experience to forget!

Delicious eggs, friendly staff, best coffee in town and has a nice outdoor area. I also got a brownie to take away and it was cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to go back!

Was recommended Flotsam & Jetsam by a colleague in NZ so I knew I had to pay it a visit while on holiday in London. Just a short, chilly walk away from the flat where I was staying, we ordered the T2 chai tea and the smashed avo. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed and the food was absolutely delicious. Would absolutely recommend to all who are in the Wandsworth area!

The sun was out showing the first signs of spring so the wife and I thought we would head over to Wandsworth Common to have breakfast. Having explored the high street nothing took our fancy but we stumbled across Flotsam & Jetsam and want a find, with this place just opening in time for Spring. Its found literally just off the high street on the corner of Sainsbury’s, I think its been open 6 weeks now and we have already visited 3 times, arranging breakie with friends.Great Coffee, fresh cakes and a nice small menu to choose from, I have to make a request now Flotsam & Jetsam, on our first visit you did the eggs Benedict with pork belly and that was amazing, we visited yesterday and now its only with bacon, although good please bring back the pork belly!!!The place has covers for about 30 – 40 people, if heading there on a weekend be there for 10am, it will already be full but you wont have to wait that long, arrive at 11am and expect to wait, but the trend is to sit in the sun outside and wait for your table.Another reason for this being our new favourite place is that with twins on the way its clearly a kid friendly place, you will always see a few young couples with newly borns, thankfully we have not experienced any screaming babies during breakfast yet, but im sure in the coming months I will be getting that night and day.If in the area and need breakfast then you wont bedisappointedhere.

The food in this place was absolutely amazing. It’s such a fantastic way to start the day! We went halfsies on the mexican poached eggs and the pork belly eggs benedict with the espresso hollandaise. Both dishes were taste explosions! The eggs were poached to perfection. What blew our minds the most was the hollandaise, it was sweet and savoury and very exciting. If you’ve ever had Norwegian caramelised cheese it reminds of that. The portions are perfect, we were quite full after our meals and we only had a coffee before we ate. There’s also a great selection of pastries to choose from. We shared an apple and pear crumble doughnut, what a mix – another taste adventure! The place itself is small, but high under the ceiling and bright so it doesn’t feel too cramped. It was packed and busy – in other words; very popular – but that was not a bad thing. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. We’re planning on getting through the entire menu over time, i can’t wait to get some more of that sauce.

Flotsam and Jetsam is a brand new antipodean style cafe in Wandsworth. If you are looking for all day brunch this is the place you want to eat at. This cafe is owned and ran by a kiwi family, bringing you both home made counter food and treats from crosstown doughnuts, or a menu of brunch items which can change on a daily basis. The cafe is busy and the staff are still finding their feet so give them some slack. Its fair to say that the smashed avocado is the popular menu item, with three of us ordering it. However I swapped my poached egg for roasted mushrooms. The portion size wont leave you feeling hungry. Perfectly seasoned and the pickled chilli, lime and mint just gives lifts the flavours. The rest of the menu was quite egg orientated but there are a great selection of sides to opt for. If you tend to choose Eggs Benedict, then F&J will spoil you with a coffee hollandaise sauce, something I have yet to come across. The interior is chic, warm and trendy. It was a great first impression, and there is a lot of potential for the near future. If you are kiwi missing home, this cafe will give you your home comfort that you are seeking.RatingFood: 9/10Service: 8/10Value for Money: Very Good4 Bellevue Parade, Wandsworth Common SW17 7EQOpening Hours: Mon-Sun 8am-5pm afoodawakeningblog.com
