Chinese take away, says the sign just above Lucky Fish bar which I walk past everyday on my way to Vauxhall train station. So when I got hungry for some Chinese treat, why not, I said to myself. So I walked and immediately noticed that the ambience left much to be desired. It is literarily a take-away restaurant. No tables, just the one chair for the one lucky person to take while waiting for his order. I almost went out on going in, but thought, if this much people were waiting to get served, perhaps the food might be good. I scanned their very large menu, and ordered the special fried rice for myself and egg fried rice with shrimps for my friend. To my surprise, the Chinese staff who took my order had a very British accent and was cordial and respectful. I waited for about two minutes for my order and scanned through the evening standard which was provided for customers who were waiting for their order.The food tasted really nice for all the short-comings of the look of the place. I mean I have had Chinese food in a more ambient and expensive place which was not this good. So my take is, if you are looking for tasty Chinese on the go that is not too expensive with good customer service then, then by all means, but if you are looking to go on a date or eat out somewhere nice then they should not even be at the bottom on your list.
