Where on the Isle of Wight can you lunch on the freshest seafood (Lobster & Crab) caught daily and served on a deck with stunning sea views? The Boathouse which opened its doors in 1999 in the hideaway of Steephill Cove is the perfect place for a romantic lunch for two or to bring friends to sample the very freshest shellfish. This stunning location could be anywhere in the Mediterranean or even the Caribbean when you are sitting on the deck with a glass of chilled wine and eating crab and lobster landed that very morning by the Cove's own fishermen Mark and Jimmy Wheeler . They fish daily but you'd need to be an early bird to see them landing their catch just meters away from where you are sitting. The restaurant is very popular with local residents and holidaymakers alike and as we have little advertising, this popularity has come mainly from word of mouth and we are renowned for our fresh crab and lobster served with crisp salad and fresh crusty bread - exquisite in its simplicity. We are only open at lunch time and have just 30 covers so booking is advised. If you are staying at one of our holiday properties, The Crow's Nest, The Boathouse or The Lighthouse then you can have lunch or a seafood supper delivered to your door giving you the ultimate in relaxation and fabulous food - just lay the table and open the wine. The restaurant is open from the end of May bank holiday to the end of the second week in September.
