Mid Week Special. We called in for a spontaneous mid week special and unfortunately it was not special at all. We would have been better off with a curry take away from Sainsbury’s. We hadn’t been to Akash for a while – before the food used to be freshly cooked, tasty and sizzling. This meal was leftovers and heated through, tough, greasy and miserable. Ice cream dessert – no vanilla left – only strawberry which looked as though it was scraped from the bottom of the tub – yuk. We asked for the bill and were not even offered the coffee that was part of this midweek deal – probably would have been stewed. So won’t be going there again!
I loved the Akash! My grandparents have taken me twice and I loved the food and the service both times. The food is amazing, better than any of the other Indian resturaunts I have been to. The service is not to bad considering they are understaffed. Over all this is my favourite resturaunt, I would recomened this resturaunt to anyone.
I keep hearing from the local residents of Wallington that this is the best idian in town. Now I know Wallington isn’t a big town, but it’s only round the corner from Croydon and and an hour into London, so this small town is very well connected to some of the best Indian restaraunts in England. So it probably does deserve the best local Indian, but to be honest, it is just that, a local take out and there is a lot better out there a bit further away. Yes the dcor is nice, the service is reasonable, but the food is just simply your average take out food, slapped on a plate.
