The menu was normal pub grub. When I eat out I like to have something which I could not prepare at home. Not much on the menu appealed to me. I settled on steak and chips which was average, although the portion was small. What really knocked me back was the bill. Paid 65 for a meal that would probably cost 40 – 50 elsewhere. Don’t think I will be going back soon.
Tough review to write because it’s tasty pub fare, a bit pricey, but tasty. The ham and Cheese toastie was fantastic, I could eat it everyday for a year! The black pudding and egg that Sazzy Saz ordered was weak, the portion was remarkably small and way overpriced, it was legitimately three total bites. The Ploughman’s Platter was substantial and was good, but not spectacular. I’d go back, they have a great beer selection which certainly helps.
Bit above average pub. Been refurbished since I was last there and it’s very neat. Nice vibe and a sociable crowd.. Simple fayre easy eating with a glass of wine or a bottled beer.
