Shocking service… Poor management, miserable staff and outrageously overpriced. Great setting, could be greag. To sum it up; chaos.
Charming. The Saxon Mill has lots of charm, its setting by the river and weir is wonderful and the spooky old house in the background adds further interest. The Mill has a quaint layout with lots of little rooms and areas, mostly well furnished, and a more formal dining area -as well as plenty of outside seating by the river. The food is usually very good, but it’s a hugely popular place and the pub is often packed out in good weather, making food service a bit slow. Highly recommendable, nevertheless.
Very nice food, even if the portions were not overly generous. The location is gorgeous and The service good and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Service slow, 30 min wait between finishing first and second course told as normal second courses not ordered in bar!!? So why have option on menus?!? Complained rude staff. Over priced for the quality especially on bar food. Good selection of premium beers. Fear place is starting to live on past reputations. For same or better go to The Cock or Orange Tree. On reputation, expected service and value for money 5/10. Must try harder..
Always lovely. Gorgeous restaurant and setting. Food is consistently good. Owned by the sane lot as the orange tree in Chadwick End which too is excellent.
Stunning setting, wonderful waterside restaurant.. One of my favourite places to eat, especially in the summer when you can get a table outside overlooking the weir. Indoors the place is lovely too. Food’s good, imaginative menu and interesting choices. Romantic, picturesque setting, worth the drive out.
I’ve always enjoyed a meal here. Good decor and fantastic food.
