Terrible customer service. On recomendation I took my wife and another couple to this restaurant and were sat near the window (the sill had recently been painted but the owner checked to make sure it was dry before sitting us down). It was very quiet and food was good and they catered very well our vegetarian needs. We had an exellent night until we came to go and realised that my shirt sleeve was covered in paint from the window sill. On complaining the owner stated that he told me the sill was wet and it was my fault and I should have sat elsewhere. Now considering he checked the sill (and said it was dry!) and sat us at this table without an option I was disappointed by his manner. He flatly refused to help or deduct a small amount off the bill and his manner was offensive and demeaning in front of my wife an colleagues. It spoilt a very nice night and I would not recommend returning there on the basis of the total lack of customer service and poor attitude of the staff at this restaurant. Good food but awful customer service.

REALLY BAD Takeaway on 10th April 2013. Ordered our meal, we live in Wellesbourne so bit of a trek to pick it up but we hadn’t been to Chans for ages. Picked up the food, drove home opened the bag and it was someone elses order – when we called them they tried to blame us for not checking!! We asked if there would be a refund and were told no refund would be given as we get the oppertunity to enjoy someone elses dinner! The cheek of it. We were asked to drive back to collect our order.When we finally sat down to eat the food was less them impressive – bbq spare ribs – forget it there is NO meat on them and the beef is very fatty!
Best Chinese in Stratford. We usually have take out; I can highly recommend the ‘D’ for two. It’s pricey compared to other take outs, but it isn’t swimming in grease, the portions are very generous and it’s a really nice mix of stuff. Mrs Chan is really friendly; Mr Chan not so much, but don’t let that put you off 😉
2011 update, went again Saturday 15th January. Food, had set menu c for 4 people outstanding. Added dimsum to it also excellent. Still a little dearer than some others around Stratford but worth it. To be picky service was a little slow but bearable not one to use if you are in a rush for theatre.01 Jun, 2009Take away food excellent….
