Delicious!. Myself and my boyfriend decided to go for a quick curry last night and instead of going to our usual place, which is fine if a little bland, we walked a little further up the road to Doha Indian restaurant. A warm welcome was followed by beautifully clean menus with an excellent selection of curries, sundries and appetisers. We ordered some poppodoms and chutneys which were lovely (particularly the mango chutney!) and then shared garlic chicken, bombay potatoes, tarka dhal, onion bhajis, pilau rice and a chapati. The garlic chicken was really tasty and the chicken beautifully tender. The bombay potatoes are by far the best I’ve had in a long time – nice and tasty with a little bit of heat to make them just a little bit more exciting. The tarka dhal was lovely but perhaps a little runny for my personal taste, however I would definitely have it again. The onion bhajis were absolutely gorgeous and beautifully cripsy. Overall we were really really impressed with the food and the service was friendly. I have only two negative points, the first being that it was a bit cold – the heating could have done with being turned up a little or maybe I needed to be wearing a warmer jumper! Secondly, I orderd a coffee for myself after we had eaten and was a little surprised when a cup of coffee appeared without sugar or a spoon and with milk already added. I also discovered that when I asked for sugar the waiter had already taken it upon himself to put some in already. I would prefer to put in my own milk and sugar and the coffee could have done with being a bit better quality – but I suppose if I want good coffee I need to go to a coffee shop and not an indian restaurant!!! Our food and drinks (a pint of coke, a cobra and a coffee) came to just over 25 which we thought was incredibly reasonable. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and the staff were extremely friendly. We will definitely be back!
