I go to restaurants for a variety of reasons, one thing I do expect is consistency though. Consistently poor or consistently amazing, as long as it’s consistent. Sakoni’s is hit and miss. About 5+ years ago this place was great. Amazing food, good value (not cheap) and fairly good service. Recently I have stopped going because it is so hot and miss. In a market that has plenty of competition, I can’t justify eating here (unless friends or family are).
As a place I’ve been going to with family for many years now, I can happily recommend it for other family groups looking for somewhere to eat which will happily accommodate them without skimping on flavour or quality. My strictly vegetarian grandparents, who will not eat somewhere where meat is also prepared, also happily eat here as they know they can trust the staff, which is nice and makes life a lot easier. As someone from an Indian family which is expanding into other cultures and tastes, it’s important to find restaurants where there is something for everyone, including spice levels, and Sakonis really does cater to that. The chilli paneer is a must, and we empty the buffet of it every time we go.
An extremely hit & miss place.Have had the dahi bhallas, tikki chaat and bhel poori on days and sworn to only ever go back to Sakonis. On others, it’s just off!Service unfortunately is very slow, the buffet also has its days. Only thing that has been a constant is the paan!
My favourite Indian restaurant in Harrow! Great service & polite staff at this branch. Delicious food! You can find everything you could possibly want on the Buffet! Including dessert, Ice cream is always available plus more. Highly recommend their Paneer chili – Yummy!!! Their Hakka noodles is lovely too. Great drinks including passionfruit juice, fresh coconut & faluda! If you’re bringing guests who are fussy eaters/dislike spicy food there is always pizza & chips on the buffet too.
I Feel Lied To. Went for lunchtime buffet. Astounded to find 10% surcharge for eating in! I’ve been buffeting for over 40 years, and understand the term ‘buffet’ to mean selecting repeatedly from a range of delicacies. Their idea of buffet is that you can select once to fill a takeaway container, and must pay a surcharge for the privilege of eating an initial selection and then returning for more. All other buffet restaurants I have experienced quote for the eat-in service, and a lower amount for takeaway. This establishment had some good reviews, so I sought it out on a Sunday lunchtime, despite it not giving opening times or prices on its website (hmm – what’s a website for again?). The buffet times and prices displayed prominently on the windows of the restaurant are: lunchtime 12.00 – 15.00 8.99 and evening 18.00 – 21.30 11.99. The 10% surcharge for eating in is displayed much less visibly.I have several objections to this establishment.:1. It has a website that doesn’t give the opening times, prices or extra charging policies.2. If I’d driven there, I’d have looked at the prices in the window, parked (with all the expense that involves in Harrow), and only then found they wanted to charge me an extra 10 per cent of the bill.3. The price of a lunchtime buffet is 8.99 plus 10%. I can get an Indian vegetarian buffet in central London (Drummond St. Euston) for 6.99, so it looks overpriced. I didn’t taste the buffet – I was put off by the 10% surcharge. But looking at the dishes offered, there were a lot less than at the Euston establishment I lunched in last week. 4. Most importantly, I feel lied to by Sakonis. I looked on its website. It had every opportunity to tell me simply its price structure. Instead it waited until I had arrived outside its premises to disclose a surcharge which is unique in my experience.I feel lied to in the matter of pricing and advertising, so I cannot trust the food from this company. Avoid!
Good Food. Love their chilli paneer and aloo papdi chaat Lovely vegetarian food but they are expensive then their competitors still always full
Costly and Rubbish. First of all its too noisy. Food contains too much of oil and its not upto the standards when you are paying amount of money they are charging. I will certainly not visit it again.
