Firstly, 9.60 for a biriyani is too high, particularly when it was not somehow cooked to perfection and the quantity was also moderate to less.Even though the staff was courteous, the biggest turn off was, even though it was written that they have some kind of a student’s discount (20% off if I remember correctly), they denied giving that stating the discount is valid for payments in cash and over 10 GBP, which was not mentioned anywhere.
So looking around everybody was eating non Pakistani food. Now I know why. Ordered Lamb Karahi. Seriously, not only did they put the Lahore name to shame but destroyed the Karahi name. It was bland and just fast cooked with rubbish ingredients. The waitress, obviously was not Pakistani as had no clue about the dishes except for she kept recommending the Grilled chicken and chips. Now I can see why. So, if you want original Pakistani food… then dont go there.
Not that I expect South Asian restaurants will bring back the exact taste of the homely food back in our motherland, but I expected this restaurant to be close enough after hearing so much about it. But alas! I must say I was pretty disappointed with the average spread of affairs! Chef special Chicken Kadhai makes you wonder what made it even close to special!
