Renaissance Heathrow is located right across T5 of Heathrow Airport. We had our training here for 3 days. From the first look it looked like quite an old hotel, but the rooms were very comfortable. My room was facing the landing strip and my first thought was I am not going to be able to sleep. Adding to it was the jet lag.But surprisingly I was not able to hear the planes landing or taking off, though I could clearly see them. Room service was spot on, every evening when I came to the room the bed sheets were replaced and bed was cleaned. We had our breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Duo Restaurant for next three days. Since we were part of a training I guess we had a menu taking into account the needs of delegates from various countries. The breakfast was quintessential English with croissants, cinnamon rolls, and many other bakery items. They were all fresh and tasted great. Perfect start to the day. Lunch and dinner had good gravies sometimes of mushroom and sometimes other things, so a veggie like me did not feel much out of place.
Loved having breakfast in a lawn facing table. Nice ambience and a functional restaurant. The spread was great with loads of mushroom based options – my favourite. The staff is very friendly and helping.Another co diner chatted with the staff and played a prank on the lady at the hot counter. We all had a good laugh 🙂
