I ordered food for delivery from One Sixty using Deliveroo but accidentally put the wrong post code in. It turned out, when I gave Deliveroo my correct post code, they couldn’t deliver to me.I ended up ordering an Uber to the restaurant to pick it up for me, an hour and a half later. The staff were helpful on the phone throughout, and took my food out to the cabbie without me even letting them know he was there. The food still tasted good too!
Delightful brunch venue in West Hampstead – wish it existed when I lived in the stew as affordable and decent brunches can be hard to come by.I had a BLT which was huge and included some seriously smoked and seriously amazing bacon. whatsarahdoes.com
Reasonable barbecue – by any means, acceptable, but given the price and the pedigree (run by David Moore of Pied Terre and LAutre Pied fame) it’s ultimately a tad lacking. The meat is always great quality, especially the ribs, but never especially flavoursome beyond any old bbq marinade from a jar type taste. The burger isn’t necessarily any better than GBK a few doors further up the street.Service is erratic but all the staff are really nice. You have to be careful that you get starters/sides as starters or sides – they seem a bit interchangeable so make sure you make clear when you want them!It has the feeling of a chain (perhaps the Strada of the barbecue world) not an independent restaurant served with love – and, unsurprisingly, a second branch will open in the City soon. The brunch menu is more lunchy than brunchy but the bacon and eggs dish really is good, with a few pickles sprinkled on to add a welcome twist to breakfast.
Properly good smoked ribs, legitimately smoked all day. The manager showed us the smoker. Great selection of beers, delicious food, highly recommend the Ox Cheek.
Aka The Smoke House. As a vegetarian, you won’t go hungry at One Sixty (there are three perfectly exciting options to choose from) but you may feel a little like you’ve just been rejected from the VIP section of a nightclub whilst you watch your friends go in and mingle with the celebrities. The meat is the main attraction here.I anticipated a good quality piece of meat served with chips that would leave me feeling satisfied yet guilty and vowing only to eat lettuce for the next 24 hours. How wrong I was. With my ox cheek came a modest portion of mashed potato, various vegetable pures, cabbage and pickles, and it was presented in a stylish and colourful way:Along with our meat we indulged in hot chicken wings, a well dressed green salad and crunchy corn on the cob.All elements were excellent. My meal was only slightly let down by the fact that the ox cheek was lukewarm…Prices are reasonable given the good quality of the meat and generous portion sizes (25 per person for mains and sides, no drinks). dinnerwithjo.com
