Good vibes here, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I went here with a friend for drinks and nibbles and the drinks were okay so was the food, but I wouldn’t necessarily go back.
The Alice House is sort of a West Hampstead institution. If you live or work in the area you’re bound to bump into someone you know every time you visit. The Alice House is great for after work drinks in the summer. They make a good cocktail and you can enjoy it outside on the terrace. The menu is relatively small and changes from time to time. Their standard beef burger is one of the best in London and served with deliciously salty chips. londonisforliving.com
If you’ve seen my review for the Queen’s Park Alice House you’ll know I’m quite a fan of this bunch of pubs. The Alice House was my go to bar for cocktails in jam jars back when I lived in West Hampstead and I’ve been singing its praises to James for the past 6 months, who needed a bit of convincing that it was worth going to…The day I moved to West Hampstead I had Sunday Lunch here with my parents 2 years ago, which was absolutely fantastic (if a little overpriced considering back up north Sunday lunch costs about 6). We had roast beef Sunday lunch and the food that day was a really good introduction to London eateries… who knew Brussels sprouts with a Sunday roast in February could be such a winner?Wandered over here from T Park and I was excited to grab some caffeine, dessert and an epic Dominos session. Whilst the coffee was well presented and tasty, the dessert we ordered was a tale of two halves. My fruit crumble with custard hit the spot perfectly after walking round Hampstead Heath, but James’s chocolate brownie was far too dry which made it slightly hard to eat. Massive shame but still a 4/5 for experience and the food from 2 years ago. whatsarahdoes.com
This place should be good….I want it to be good. West Hampst’d deserves another good pub for food, drinks, brunch etc. this just isn’t it. I went for a Saturday brunch, the main server was friendly and sat us straight away. The rest of the staff just are not on the same page or just din’t care, I waited a good 30 minutes for my English Breakfast.Food was good. Hot, tasty, good ingredients but the whole event was let down by appalling service. All three tables around me had to ask for menus, drink orders, food orders, condiments and the cheque. Not one for a quick bite, but perfect place to sit and work quietly and enjoy a good mean and drinks, especially if the weather is nice and the terrace is open.
Alice House is an amazing typical British venue located in West Hampsted Area. This place offers you a variety of coctails, craft beers, relaxing dinings, a perfect place to eat and drink! When I went there with a friend of mine and I ordered the main meal Bacon and Cheese Burger with Hand Cut Chips and my friend had a Grilled Chicken Salad with Radish and Mustard Dressing. Both of the dishes were more than delicious and the service was nice as well. After we finished we had a couple of their famous Ginger beer with an interesing taste! Great venue can highly recommend it!
The little sister to the larger and better known Alice House in Queens Park, this pub in West Hampstead is a great local and home to one of my favourite cocktails I’ve ever had – the plumble. Served in a jam jar, it’s an enchanting mix of gin, plum jam, bitter lemon and lemonade. It also comes with a little wooden spoon to scoop out the remains of the sticky, sweet jam nestled in the bottom of the jar, which just adds to the delight. As well as excellent cocktails, AH serves good quality food and sharing platters, and is always packed at the weekend for brunch and lunch.A lovely boozer.
Alice House. Nice pub but probably the worst steak sandwich ever. Inside a massive, overly toasted sourdough slice was a grizzled sliver of steak. The chunky chips were OK. Good for drinking but forget about the food.
