Best seasonal British restaurant in London. Can’t fault anything about Hereford road.Excellent service, food was well executed and seasoned well. Lamb rump with anchovies and runner beans was definitely the highlight of the whole meal Can’t wait to come back.

Modern British Cuisine. A smaller place in Notting Hill, with great modern British Cuisine for a reasonable price. The waiters did know the meal ingredients (helpful if you have food allergies), were friendly and even so we had our table longer than expected did not complain. I recommend you have a reservation when going there but it is worth while. Somehow it reminds me of Great Queen Street, another modern British cuisine restaurant I like in Covent Garden.
Simplicity done well.. Food at Hereford Road is like food at the much heralded St John’s, but at better value and nicer interiors. It is very much a neighborhood restaurant, specializing in British cuisine using the best seasonal ingredients. We ate in autumn and enjoyed some wonderful game and mushrooms. Service felt informal but friendly and knowledgeable. I started with a quail, no fireworks, just simply roasted, timed carefully, well seasoned and was perfectly juicy. Mains was an equally simple red leg partridge, again roasted perfectly. The accompanying lentils and black chanterelles added earthy tones and flavour to the dish. However the sauce was rather thin, like a watery gravy. The table also had a braised whole roe shoulder and carrots (for 2 but can feed 4). It looked a bit home-style but the meat was beautifully tender and flaked away easily. With the rich gravy, this was the comfort dish of the meal. This is the sort of place to come together with friends to eat and share… it’s unfussy, no fancy presentations, menu is accessible and excellent value. It’s hard to fault the food – the cooking is competently executed. But the simplicity, for me, made the overall experience lack some ‘wow’ and excitement.
We went when it first opened and loved it… Took my parents the other day and found the service very slow.
