Best Pub in Notting Hill. Food, service and atmosphere always spot on!We have tried nearly everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The duck, pork chop and burger are all spot on!
I felt compelled to write a review of our meal last night. Simply because it was so shockingly awful. Service was great, lovely waiter. The food, something else. Starting with a barely decipherable menu, every course for each of us 3, was frankly pretty disgusting. Steak requested rare, cost 26. Arrived we did to well done so we sent it back. My burger with chips no salad, was the smallest most dried up price of meat I have ever encountered in a restaurant. The only good thing was the chips. Even the wine my brother chose, he was told was a light bodied refreshing red. It was delicious, but in no way light bodied!!The decor is more shabby than chic. This was supposed to be a celebration meal, I will never recommend this place and will never return. Oh yes my pork belly skewer, 4 squares of belly, barely barbecued and half those squares were quite literally lumps of pure pork fat. Vile.I’m so angry and wish we had complained at the time but it was a treat and I had selected the restaurant.Do not visit this place for a meal. Even the cocktail list was weirdly incomprehensible.
I’ve never eaten at the Prince Bonaparte, but purely as a pub one of my favourite in Notting Hill and London for that matter. Wooden tables, candles, right mix of space and liveliness – definitely check it out. I also recall you being able to take dogs in which is a huge plus for me (but double check before arrival)
