Local. Could not recommend enough, the food is very tastey and traditional italian. Prices are fantastic, although BEWARE the portion size, you will not be able to eat 3 courses, 2 is a push. Highly recommend the house wine 12.50 a bottle and absolutely fantastic. Its not ‘fine dining’, however for a friendly relaxed atmosphere, great service, great food and excellent value, you just keep returning!
Love it. We have been eating at Angelo’s for some years now. We never leave there disappointed, food is great, always made very welcome, and always leave there wanting to return.
Best in town. We’ve been regulars at Angelo’s for several years and it’s spoiled us for any other Italian restaurant. The food is exceptionally good and the ambience unique. .Children are welcome and always seem well-behaved.It’s difficult to select a dish to recommend as they are all good. But you need a good appetite or exceptional self-control to eat a three course meal as the portions are generous. Our favourites include any fish dish, the veal parmigiana and the home-made pannacotta. It’s a popular place and it’s best to book. Don’t miss the chance to experience an exceptional family-run restaurant
Best Italian in North london. Recomended to me by an Italian Cafe Owner, Angelos is an absolute delight. Family run (Husband, Wife, Daughter), it seems to operate as a cafe during the day and then a Restaurant in the evenings. Its a little cramped and homespun inside but that just adds to its charm. Its the menu though that sells the place. The Bean Soup on the starter menu is to die for and I have yet to have anyy main corse that in any way disapointed – superb pastas, escalopes and steaks. And the deserts, if you can find the room, are wonderful too. The service is very good with the Owner (Bruno?) and his Wife always finding time not only to ask if everythings okay but to have a little chat too – a genuinely nice touch from people who seem to enjoy what do. I have visited Angelo’s on several occasions now, noticing not only consistantly good food and service but that many of the customers appear to be regulars too. As a lover of Italian food, I have paid FAR more for an Italian meal nowhwere near as good in Soho, Fitzrovia and ovent Garden. Who needs the West End when theres a place like Angelo’s on your doorstep?
Awful experience. I have just returned from Angelo’s. The snails were brilliant, the best I have ever tasted. The lasagne was the worst one I have ever had – it was very greasy and the pasta had some weird beer like after taste. After 2 spoonful I gave up on it and left the whole lot. The lady did not like it and came back to tell us that there was nothing wrong with it, that the chef tasted it. She was very rude to me. Whatever, I won’t make myself sick by eating something what tastes weird. She did not offer me anything else instead. The desert – profiterols – were somehow average. Cream filled profiterols, with just single cream poured over themwhere is the chocolate? Maybe it is Italian way, having it without the chocolate? Paying 45 for meal for two, where I ate only starter and average desert (I had to pay for the mailn meal which I did not eat) and my husband had also only two courses, no wine, just a water….I am sure I can get better meal for the same money elsewhere.
Both the food and service were excellent. A great menu with a real home cooked taste and a lovely welcome. A place worth costing again and again.
Best Italian Restaurant. AT long last i phoned Angelo’s eating place after several attempts of trying to book for a saturday night, i finally managed to get a table for me and my wife. I had Veil Chop and my wife had a Lobster Risotto and it is an experience to live for.. The food was so delicious and tasty, we asked the lady’s namewho took our order and we found out she was the chef’s wife she was very bubbly, friendly and down to earth. When it came to the bill we found it to be extremmely reasonable compared to other restuarnt in north London.. and what we were astonished most was their passion for their family run restaurnt. A great atmosphere a wonderful evening, and true home made italian food.. i cant believe that this restaurant exists, in a world full of chain and fast food italian restaurants which nowadays we see on every high street
