I went to Dessert Island for the first time yesterday with my two little cousins. Service was ok when we got there, not the best but nothing to complain about. We ordered a Lindor shake and the cookie dough. Presentation was good when it came out. Did wait a while for it. I was not happy with the food at all. If I could give it a 0, I would. The cookie dough was over cooked and rock solid, could not get my spoon in it. Not even a like a cooked cookie, but a burnt cookie, even though it’s supposed to be HALF baked, soft and gooey on the inside. I think they tried to disguise this by putting a lot of dressing over it. We could not eat it. The milkshake was not better and was WARM. It was like milk, no texture nothing to it. Just a beige liquid milk that had a horrible after taste. A good milkshake is supposed to be very thick, like an ice cream melting. It’s supposed to be cold as well. The milkshake was left after a sip. I went to tell them and they apologised but didn’t seem too bothered by it and expected me to pay the full price for something that they did not deliver for. The bill came up to 8 something but I refused to pay full price so he put it down to 4.20. The people were nice. I am a massive dessert eater and I will not never go back there. I will defo stick to my regular places that is 5 minutes or less walking distance from this place and they are, Creams, Urban Choclatier and Sweets, Stepney. Also, the day after, I had a very upset stomach the whole day and so did the little ones. I was really disappointed as it was supposed to be a fun day out for them.

Tiramisu: Price unknown | So this is a new dessert place just minutes away from Motown. I think it’s safe to say that the Disney ‘D’ caught the eye. It was literally empty when me & my friends went (may be due to the fact that it was evening). Anyway the decor looked modern and shiny and we were given a warm welcome. As a lover of coffee, I was so pleased to find a tiramisu with no alcohol (every Muslim coffee lover’s dream). I ordered it and it came pretty quickly. The cake was delicious and just right in terms of the coffee flavour. Overall I was happy with the dessert and service. Foodie.007 x
