I have been to The Gourmet Hut countless amount of times, Not once have I ever had a bad experience. People who complain about price are clearly dining out of their budget. The burgers are sensational and the muddy fries are to die for. Staff are very competent and friendly. Will definitely go back and recommend. Keep up the good work guys!!

Went there yesterday for Iftar, was very disappointed as they only had the ramadan menu which included muddy balls, burger, chips, ribs, chop and a drink. Which was all 19.95 for a very limited menu. They had only one option for the burger which was disappointing. I had asked for the normal menu, but they said they only did the ramadan menu. However, when another non Muslim guy came, they offered him the ramadan menu as well as the normal menu. Overall, I’d give the food 2/5 as the ribs were too chewy and took too much time to cut off. Also, the chops were too done and were hard. The burger was not too great either. Only thing I enjoyed was my bottle of fanta and the muddy balls. I am a regular customer and this has been by far the worst experience in TGH. Very unhappy. Don’t think I’ll be returning there any time soon.

Worst gourmet burger place ever, if your looking to waste money on bad food this is the place to go. Place was empty and only one table was occupied. All staff where having jokes in the kitchen and we had waited for over 20 mins before they took our order despite place being empty. Food took a further 35 mins to come out? We ordered burgers for three people not ten?!!?!! Food come out in dribs and drabs and drinks came after we asked 3 times and lastly the tables where wobbly so very uncomfortable to eat. Food was nasty and if they recommend the firecracker burger do not buy it. Worst burger I’ve had till date they drown the burger with cheap chilli sauce and mustard and add extra jalapeo’s awful combination. Bad food, bad service and you certainly won’t get what you paid for. So in a nutshell go McDonald’s instead you’ll get your money’s worth.

I had the Big Cheesey, curly fries and coke and it cos 11.95 which I thought was a bit steep for an ok burger. It was a big burger, meat was thick and not over cooked, slightly pink inside. It wasnt juicy and had way too much burger sauce in it. The menu didnt mention the burger sauce so I was a bit annoyed. Staff were friendly but the service was bit slow considering I was the only one the there. The venue is nice but a bit small and dark. Could do with better lighting. I dont think I would go back as I think it wasn’t worth the price.

Firecracker: 8.50 | So I headed to The Gourmet Hut for a catch up the other day and thought I’d try the somewhat infamous burger- The Firecracker. On the menu, this is shown as the spiciest burger. Now according to the menu, this consists of the beef patty, cheddar, tomato, spicy sausage, crushed chilli, tortilla chips, red onion, green and red jalapeo, mustard and the TGH Hot Sauce. However, in my Firecracker, there was no sign of crushed chilli, tortilla chips, red jalapeo and mustard. Saying that, the burger still tasted great. The patty reminded me of the one from Stax Diner. Very tender. The whole burger combination definitely worked and there was a variety of flavours in every bite. I didn’t find the burger spicy at all. If anything, there was too much hot sauce which was more tangy than spicy for me. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my burger. It was cooked to perfection and presented very neatly too! Curly Fries: 2.50 | Hot and crispy and curly, what more could you possibly ask for? Absolutely loved these! Usually I can’t finish anything I order but I actually managed to finish these xD Red Mist: 3.95 | By far the best mocktail I have tasted to date. I was worried about it tasting too much of strawberry but it was actually so refreshing and just had a slight hint of strawberry. Actually craving this right now Definitely try it out if you go to TGH guys! Foodie.007 x

The Gourmet Hut is my favourite place to eat (although I place order to take away). Its a cute little restaurant a few streets away from the hustle and bustle of Whitechapel High Street. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the service is wonderful. The food is out of this world and what I call filthy delicious!…(which is a good thing because that means its out of this world delicious). I wouldgo there for breakfast (although its not open for breakfast), lunch and dinner everyday if I could, and if it wasn’t too weird! The burgersat TGHare so delicious, big and packed with flavour. I usually have the ‘Big Cheesy’ and have never been disappointed with it, its always consistent in flavour and appearance. I usually have fries or homemade chips which are lovely. You should go and definitely check it out, its a little gem….and I am certain you’ll go back there again…..its that good!
