The Royal Oak at Hollywater is a pub which remains a good old drinking/socialising establishment in the face of other such premises giving themselves over to food provision. And yet despite the fact that it does not, regularily, serve food, It has managed to retain its distinctive identity, even in these current tough economic times, and continues to be an active hub for the local community. It regularly hosts festivals and events, of every description, inside and out in its surrounding gardens and has the unique distinction of being the only pub for miles around to have supported live music for over forty years. It is dog friendly and keeps a cracking ale or two on the go for walkers, cyclists and bikers alike and it is its relaxed, open and hugely enjoyable atmosphere that makes this pub like no other.
