Had a couple of beers here with a friend hadn’t been in the pub for twenty years, hadn’t really changed except they served food. I had a burger, somebody should teach them in the kitchen there is an art to a great burger.
If your in Wimbledon and looking for a bar to watch sport and also have some food then this is a good option.Located in the heart of Wimbledon opposite Elys, of its a big match your wanting to watch and want food get there a little early. The place is pretty big as its 3 bars in one all connected. At the back you have more wine bar theme and then at the front two pubs, I think about 4 plasma screens and a large projector screen.
I wanted to say how disappointed I was with my meal at the Alexandra last weekend. My family and I have been regular visitors to your pub over the years, and because of the locality, it is also a popular place to recommend to friends, and meet over a few drinks and Sunday lunch. Last weekend we had visitors flying in from Europe for the Tennis and we recommended your house as a meeting place. Whilst the traditional Sunday roast was of the usual high quality, and quantity, the Chicken Caesar salad was a complete failure and not as described on your menu. It consisted of a pile of chopped lettuce with a chicken thigh plonked on top! No caesar sauce, no croutons, no parmesan cheese (and no boiled egg as described on your menu). The result a very dry unpalatable, almost-salad! We decided not to complain on the day as we had recommended you and were very embarrassed! Disappointed? Absolutely, yes! I hope this feedback will help your kitchen staff build a better Caesar Salad in future…
