This pub had a huge revamp a couple of years ago and I think this is exactly what the local area needed. In the summer months the outside area is very busy and popular week days and weekends. Food here is popular and the few dishes I have ordered were tasty and not disappointing. The staff are courteous but at busy times the bar gets crowded and service slow. However, I still return in the chilled summer evenings.
Been a couple of times, the first time went for the traditional pub grub and got the steak pie. Wasn’t the best I had and tasted like a typical chained pub food establishment. Went recently and tried the beef burger and it was really good along with the chicken wings. The nachos were nice (not difficult to make) and the service was decent.Better second impression from the newly refurbished place which has been decorated nicely but for pub food rather go elsewhere.
It has been refurbished recently but places with huge menus disappoint me. It’s a McMullen pub and there’s nothing personal or indeed original about it! Personally I prefer fresh homemade food!
