Yummy!. Not sure what chippie the other reviewers attended, or if Deep Blue have just stepped up their game, but this is a lovely fish and chip shop. Every time I’ve eaten there (at least 5 times now) the fish has been fresh, the batter light, the portions big (I’ve never finished their smallest portion of chips) and the chaps behind the counter incredibly jovial and pleasant.
Good food, small portions. I’ve been to this shop twice. The first time, I ordered fish and chips. When I got home, I was very disappointed with the portion size of the chips – I had to add bread in order to convert it into a meal.I went back a week later and ordered fish and large chips, and the portion size felt like a ‘normal’ portion from elsewhere. Sure, it was bigger than the standard portion but it wasn’t ‘large’ by any stretch of the imagination. However, the food was served in a cardboard box. I’d have preferred more money spent on chips and newspaper.
