  Give this one a miss. I went to the Harvest Mouse with my family today after my mum and nan enjoyed a meal at another pub in the same chain and we won’t be returning. We were all bitterly disappointed. Most of the meals were cold when they arrived, particularly the chips. There were seven people in our party and the waitress brought the meals two at a time and then side orders seperately. One of our party ordered an egg with a steak and the other with their gammon. These arrived on a seperate plate several minutes after the meals. We asked the waitress for cutlery as she brought the first two meals. As she came back to the table for the third time, we politely asked for cutlery again to be stroppily told by the waitress that she was busy bringing out all of our meals. I know it is a pub rather than a restaurant but I would expect cutlery to be brought to the tables before the meal and there is no excuse for cold food.

  Not nice meals. Don’t go here. You wait AGES and the food is freezing when it arrives – and the tables are sticky.

  Cheap and cheerful, great waittress served us. It’s far from gourmet and doesnt attempt to be a gastropub and kid itself! Nice English pub food and a cracking hot chocolate fudge cake!

  My friends and I visited the Harvest Mouse and were all disappointed. When we arrived the table was dirty, we ordered our food and the chicken burger I ordered came missing the onion rings and the mushrooms. My friends mixed grill arrived missing the steak, (after the staff asked how he would like it cooked???). He asked for a fried egg with the mixed grill and it came on a seperate plate. When we asked the staff how we could be compensated one member of staff offered to give us dessert for free, but was over ruled by the manager who informed us that they had undercharged us for the meals so were not prepared to compensate us. I explained that I had orderd the food at the till and pointed to the food I wanted and the waitress implied that I was lying. The chef then came out of the kitchen and started to do maintenance in the restaurant despite there being a man in builders clothes already working there.???? The manageress came to talk to us and we found her to be rude and almost intimidating. We have all vowed never to return.
