Do not be fooled by the drab exterior to this pub, inside has been updated and is perfect for a romantic meal. I prefer to sit in the Worcester half of the pub as it’s away from the kitchen. The variety of food is very good and the Herefordshire rib eye steaks are excellent! I was recently dissapointed when I went for lunch (I normally go for an evening meal), we were seated right next to a bunch of tea towels next to the kitchen and a fork had to be returned as still dirty. We chose from a 5 lunch menu that had very little to choose from. Meals were cod fillet and chips, salmon, chicken breast in Stilton sauce and a couple of others. The presentation was nice. Was good to see homemade chips and the meal itself was pleasant enough but not quite up to halfway house normal standard of excellent food, but then again what do you expect for 5? I will still come for evening meals as the food is very worth it.
