Went there with a few friends for a night out. Apparently, there was a karaoke night and the small dance floor was completly empty as nobody wanted to dance to the karaoke songs sung by random people. Had a few beers with my freinds and we left the place. The atmosphere was really nice, yet its notmy favourite place to party. If you want to have some fun night singing karaoke songs, that is definitely a good place to go.

Cosmopol is a karaoke bar located on Hope Street that bills itself as Glasgow’s premier karaoke bar. Though I wouldn’t consider it a premier type of place, the atmosphere was a cross of night club and karaoke bar with the stage next to the entrance/exit of the bar. Even if you decide not to stand close to the stage, they had monitors and screens broadcasting the brave souls that got onto stage to sing throughout the place. The drinks were pretty standard though well priced and they offered bar snacks in case you were hungry. Overall, fun place though it seems to attract older people.

I came here on a Thursday night. However, the fact that it was a weekday did not mean that this place was empty. In fact rather the opposite as we found Comsopol full of happy, less-than-sober people. I made a bee line for the Karaoke request expecting it to be an immediate/ wait for one song sort of deal. I was very wrong. The DJ informed me (rather snootily) that I would have to fill in a form with my song request and that the wait would be at least 45 minutes. The drinks were fairly priced and the atmosphere quite lively although the second dance floor was completely empty. If you like karaoke/ watching people make a fool out of themselves then this is the place to come, just be prepared to wait for your turn to take the stage.
