FOOD CLUBJacker De Viande Glasgow 06/03/2015Food Club goes west and Jacker De Viande was our destination. We set off down the M8 and after a manly sing a long we parked up in Glasgows City Centre. Table was booked for 8 and we all arrived about quarter to. There was a large table in the corner of the restaurant ready for us but we were unable to sit there so instead stood around the bar. We felt in the way as its not the biggest place but we were soon able to take our places. When booking the restaurant, we were advised that due to the size of our group we would have to have a reduced menu for quality purposes. Gutted wasnt the word for a menu full of outstanding burgers, the reduced options seemed boring and put us off. Thankfully we were able to get the full menu and with that a full choice of mouth watering meaty delights.A selection of beers were ordered and we salivated and panted at the menu like dogs. Due to the time of night a few burgers were limited or unavailable but we still got a good choice and we ordered our treats and admired the restaurant itself. Painted animal heads with human bodies showing a wide variety of slaughter tools. The reds & blacks of the room set a dramatic scene for the animalistic meal we were about to endure. The food is served on large trays per 2 people, so each tray has 2 burgers, 2 fries and whatever sides you ordered and its a beautiful sight. I imagine its what the ancient kings felt like being served platters of the finest meats in the kingdom during a banquet. Anyway, on to the food itself. The Naked Canadian was a juicy beef burger, tasty pork sausage, crispy bacon & sweet, sticky maple syrup. The first bite made all other burgers obsolete immediately and I could not have been happier. The Chilli Cheese fries were perfect and an ideal partner with any burger. The Pulled pork was glorious and tender, every bite was as sumptuous as the last. The Cajun fries were crisp, fluffy and packed with flavour. The Spicy Chicken & pulled pork was out of this world described as moist, succulent, crisp and loaded with spice, his taste buds are still confused. The rib beef burger & Pastrami & Bacon burgers were equally fantastic as well I could eat that bacon aww day.If that wasnt enough, we got sides. 3 onions rings, each one towered head high and full of oniony battered goodness. Mac & cheese why the hell not? Sticky Wings essential at any manly meal especially when the meat falls off the bone and some spicy chicken skewers, shared amongst ourselves like a hungry family at Christmas dinner. After a much needed break and more refreshments we ordered dessert, again due the time of night we were limited, but shared a mix of the warm chocolate pudding with mint ice cream and also the vanilla and honeycomb ice cream. The pudding was soft and chocolatey with a sharp zest of mint in every mouthful The honeycomb ice cream was smooth and subtle with crunchy chunks of honeycomb to add some bite. Some never had a pudding because Haagen Dasz was more important. After a few after dinner drinks in one of the bars down the road we packed into the cars and headed home. Bloated, sleepy and struggling to breath, we knew we had a very good night.Fantastic value and very friendly staff. High Praise all round. Thank You.The Food Club

Cocktails Meat & Love – loved everything about it! The art work is an amazing creation and the lighting just brings it to life. A really eccentric place and it doesn’t end there……….. the food really out ranked my expectations, quirky, imaginative and delicious not to mention out standing value. There has been great skill creating these dishes – you can sense the head chef Nick MacIntyre is someone to look out for, he knows what he is doing! The staff were friendly and attentive and there was an enjoyable atmosphere. Everyone seemed relaxed and enjoying themselves, I highly recommend this restaurant as they truly deserve it and I will most definitely be returning soon!
