Went in for tea and cake and was impressed with the selection. I had the mixed berry mousse cake and English breakfast tea. The cake was delicious, it had a thin layer of sponge at the bottom which was just enough and the mouse was not heavy at all and the fruit on top was fresh. frocksandfairycakes.com

Ok at start but…. I’ve visited this place twice. The first time was ok. It had just opened and any teething problems were excused.I came with a friend recently and have to say it was disappointing. The poorest part is the staff. Hard to get their attention and extremely slow. Slightly clumsy too as I had used cutlery dropped on me as the table was being cleared. Paying took forever. Also there seems to be a complete lack of atmosphere in this place – a little music perhaps. All in all it is contrived, no atmosphere, with inattentive and slow staff. Worlds apart from the Valeries I know in London and worth avoiding until they sort themselves out.

Very poor, won’t return. Attracted by front if shop, cakes look lovely, windows clean. The nice experience ended there. Waitress could not be bothered. Prices very high but food not good at all. Very rarely do I not tip but did not intend to tip here. However, my 2 change was not brought back anyway.Never again.

Average food, terrible service. I’ve been wanted to go to this place for a while now so I gave it a go last weekend with my partner and what an unpleasant experience it was. The staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than serving the customers. I made a comment on their slow service and the service deteriorated even more. Not only their smiles disappeared but they all seemed to avoid us completely. Not sure if it was out of spite but the other customers got served a lot quicker than we did.Along with the poor service, the presentation of the cake I ordered was very poor. The leaning tower of Pisa looked straighter than the cake I got. In addition to that, the lukewarm coffee and the dirty cup and saucer did not impress us at all. Never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant/cafe.
