In my search for the southside’s best breakfast after Bonjourno (ok) Biscuit (small) I returned to our old haunt The Brookie!! I had the All Day Breakfast which was sausage square (thick) and link, tattie scone, black pudding, fried egg and one Rasher of bacon! All Day All Good! The ability to add individual items on at your leisure is a winner and you could upgrade to the bigger breakfast if you wanted too! This will be a hard act to follow or beat!
A hidden gem. With time to kill before my lunch at Ketchup I popped in for a coffee at this original NY Italian style outlet. The helpful friendly staff directed me to a table at the window and I ordered up a large latte. While waiting, it was obvious this place was popular by the amount of customers and the happy and relaxed atmosphere. Not bad considering the Di Maggio’s at the top of the road. There was no less than 3 menus on my table and I was sorely tempted to cancel my lunch date and stay here !! When the coffee arrived it was beautifully presented, delicious and gigantic !! So, it’s a big thumbs up and I’m looking forward to going back and trying the food.
Possibly. The best ice cream in the city, but the food is pretty sloppy. Anywhere with Haggis Pakora on the special menu needs a word in it’s ear. Very attentive service though, and, unlike many places, the staff know how to operate their coffee machine.
