  I like my food and I enjoy taking the time to eat out once in a while. So the missus and I decided to try Braidwoods after her parents went and raved about it. On arrival a pleasent lady introduced herself, I think she was the owner, and gave us the option of any table. Canapes were brought out and they were the finest vol au vents stuffed with bacon and mushroom, so small and dainty, the taste was devine. The menu contained approximately twelve items for the entire four courses. Starters were the scallops served on a bed of peas and topped with parma ham, one word could describe this. Unfortunatelly I am not God, so I will have to try with my limited vocabulary, awesome . The way I judge anywhere I eat, is can I do any better myself and the answer for the canapes ands the starter was a resounding NO! The secon course for myself was the new potato and garlic soup. Oh me you could taste the new potato through everything, beautiful it was so good I forgot what the missus had, no she had the parmasan tart and we both loved it. The main was pork for the both of us and again heaven in you mouth. Pork fillet with apple topped with Arran blue cheese. Well after that we had to finish the 4 courses and both finished with the chocolatiest of chocolate tarts I have ever eaten. It was a wee bit expensive but the quality and the service. In fact I am going there again next week and I can’t wait to see what treats they have for my pallet this time. Oh good thing is the wine list isn’t too shabby and the house wine is about 4 a glass. I would recommend that everyone visit here at least once just to experience this type of cooking at least once.
