Not impressed with quality and taste. I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages and finally did so. I treated myself to a small loaf of their organic sourdough bread and a cappuccino. The coffee was absolutely tasteless which was disappointing. I was looking forward to some sourdough toast once I got home.I took two slices off the loaf and toasted them, and tried a bit as it was as I find the sourness usually comes out more once toasted. I hoped that this was the case since I couldn’t taste even a hint of sourness. I added some butter to the toast and took my first bite (sourdough toast with butter is one of my favourite comfort foods, by the way) and found there was still no hint of sourness. Instead what I got was a really unpleasant chemical taste. I asked my partner to try the bread too to see if I was just not tasting right. Initially he said it tasted like plain bread, but he soon got the aftertaste of chemicals. What a seriously disappointing experience that cost me 3.Have these bakers ever actually tasted sourdough dough bread? I hate to say it but the in-store bakery at M&S sells a sourdough loaf that is miles better than this and even then it’s not that great.I wouldn’t recommend this place for their baked goods not only based on my experience but other reviews, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend the coffee either.
Bakehouse Heaven!. Love it here. Shop doesn’t look fancy, but it has everything I look for. – Fresh food. Good food. REAL food. You leave here knowing that you have eaten something that has benefitted your body. Loads of wheat-free options. Soya milk for lattes/hot chocolate. Loads of veggie options and fresh, fresh, fresh – as well as friendly and decently priced.

Tapa Bakehouse is the place to be!. Everything about Tapa Bakehouse is fantastic! I am a vegetarian and this is the only place I can go to and choose what to eat from a variety of different things. The food is devine and there is so much variety! The coffee here is the best I have ever tasted. The staff are very pleasant and friendly and make you feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend Tapa Bakehouse to everyone vegetarians and non-vegetarians!!
As with its Southside counterpart, this doesn’t have the best coffee in Glasgow. However the atmosphere and quality of the baking is superb and food great. Lovely. An oasis in the East end.
One of the best places to get coffee in Glasgow and when it is at its best the Chocolate Brownie is amazing, try the Ginger Crunch, my other favourite. Free WiFi and they have a branch on the South Side too.
