Yum!. I went here with my boyfriend for a pre theatre, I’m a regular to Ashton Lane so can’t believe this place has been overlooked by me for so long! Situated up stairs and opposite The Lane bar, this little restaurant had no more than 10 tables in it, some of which were quite close together and definitely made for ‘cosy dining’. We were shown to a table but were told it would be needed back in an hour and a half as it was fully booked that evening so we decided just to order from the evening’s dinner menu. I ordered an asparagus, chicken and mushroom risotto and my boyfriend went for the more traditional lasagne and chips. Both meals arrived swiftly and were very large portion sizes. The risotto was delicious but took a while to get through the mass of it that was on my plate – not that I was complaining! The lasagne looked and tasted just as nice. Were too full to order a dessert and didn’t want to go over our time allocation so left contented and full! Very nice, but would definitely book before going to next time to ensure a more relaxed evening.
