Great bar. I love bars with a beer menu. Gone are the days when you had a choice of crap lager or a heavy. I can recommend the Beer and Skittles own brew.
Great place for a drink. Me and my mate went here to watch the football and its got lots of big screens so no problems seeing the match. Also has a great selection of different beers at fair prices and served very quickly every time.
Beer and Skittles is a great little place if you fancy chilling out with a cold pint of beer. It has a really relaxed laid back vibe inside and yes it is a sporty/beer sort of bar but doesn’t have intimidating feel you can sometimes find in similar style pubs.Every time I have went it has just been for a quick pint or to watch football but recently I got to try out their BBQ food. The hot dog I had was really lovely, though I did find the bun it came in was a little too much. More meat, less bread…As much as I enjoy their beer based cocktails, I tried out their alcohol free Pink Lemonade cocktail which is by far the most refreshing drink you will ever find. The group I went with all ended up ordering it as it was just that good! frankly-ms-shankly.blogspot.com
Love this place, great, fresh food and lovely service. The ambience is so cool and laid back. Chilled vibe. You can play pool and have a glass of what you fancy.
10 real ale pitchers are one of my favourite reasons to go here. The staff are also nice and their beer garden is great in the right weather. The only reason for the 4 and not a 5 is dur to a time myself & some friends went along to watch a football match. I was told it would be shown ‘if there were no other games on’ which there weren’t until later in the day. We were up for spending a fair amount on beer & bar snacks however the bar staff change the channel to Monster Trucks (we were the only 4 people in the bar) and when we asked if they could change it back they said no. So we went round to Mathers instead. Good for big English Premiership games and rugby. Not so much for Scottish football.
Owned by one of the clients I worked for, Beer & Skittles became a common meet-up place with old work-mates. It has been refurbished and has a very modern feel to it. Great to go for some drinks with friends as it has plenty of seats, which is always great when you’ve had a long day. My favourite thing about this bar is that they have beer/drinks categorised into countries! So if you’re up for some german beer, or Turkish for me, then this place is a new hotspot in town. belleeamie.blogspot.com
Great new bar in the basement of Steak at Picardy place, a huge refurb has resulted in an amazeballs bar to enjoy a few drinks! I’d even be tempted to come and watch the sport here though that may be pushing it! The staff are good fun and relaxed and they do beer cocktails yay. We tried a tequila based sangria style one and a beery take on a Moscow mule. Both were really tasty and leave you feeling a little tipsy rather quickly. They have a huge range of draft and craft beers and do bottles with chaser shots a personal fav was the Aussie bundy rum with my beer! Bar snacks are on to keep you going but not full meals yet, though you could always head up to Steak if you’re peckish or try the groups new place Fish. forkandfizz.com
