We went here on 1st January 2017 to have our first lunch in the New Year, all excited and happy and we were met by the most glum team of people we have ever seen. Everyone we interacted with inside the restaurant including the waiter who served us, didn’t smile even once during our lunch! Absolutely rubbish service!!!
If I could have lobster benedict from here everyday I would. So so good. Good choice of mains and drinks, I had the crispy duck salad which was crispy alright and pretty good but nowhere as good as his pie-major food jealousy. Would happily go for brunch here every weekend…maybe every day.
Been here a few times, and have never been disappointed. Food is good, a little pricey, but good. This time service was a bit slow, and when I asked for chicken on top of my dish I did not get it, but it was still tasty. Would go back, food is really yummy. fashionpolaroids.co.uk
Not overly impressed. Grade: C+Brown’s seems to have found the indifference of French service but not the culinary skill. Service was slow, almost to the point of impacting our evening plans. We’d almost come here two years ago but, fortunately, we were turned away. Wish we had been this time, too.The food was memorable only for its flaws. The side Caesar salad I got was lukewarm with wilted greens and boxed croutons (or, at least, they tasted like bad boxed croutons). My steak, Mushroom & Guinness Pie had too much pastry topping and little flavo(u)r, and I left half of it. The combination of crushed peas and mashed potatoes failed horribly, resulting in a dry, stodgy glop that did justice to the taste of neither.
Consistantly good!. Lunches in Browns are always a treat – keep an eye out for the specials. Service is top class and its reasonably priced for George Street.
Seafood :-). Been going to browns for years. the seafood platter is wonderful – have it every time. quite partial to the flat breads too. service nearly always good, professional, polite. maitre d can be a bit quick/cold
