I was told this place did some of the best cupcakes in town. The cupcakes were nice. But too crumbly for my liking so either they were a day old (which I suspect) or that’s their recipe. Either way I chose the salted caramel chocolate cupcake. And I cannot fault it’s taste. However, the butter cream on top was nearly the same size as the sponge!
For a cupcake bakery, this deserves the full 5. Adorable china, bunting and a range of delicious cupcakes to choose from. Personal favourites are the red velvet and black bottom cupcakes. My mouth is drooling at the thought again! I’ve had the whole selection far too many times!! Best cupcakes in Edinburgh! brightredwellies.com
Divine cupcakes and far to close to home means my wallet is thinning and my waistline is growing. Favourites include black bottom and raspberry white chocolate, but make sure to try their weekly specials! Non cupcake-y things are great also, from salads and in particular the chocolate crunch bar
The Cuckoo Bakery has a great, ever-changing selection of gourmet cupcake recipes. The ambience is pleasant – I like the blue and cream themed decor, with a a cute cuckoo clock on the wall. There’s no counter for staff to hide behind, just a large free-standing display case for the cupcakes, which gives the cafe an open feeling. It can get very busy at lunchtime. I used to get a takeaway toasted sandwich from here, but it does take a long time. Best to stick with cupcakes, they’ll serve them up quickly and efficiently in a box for you to take back to the office. Better still, if you bring the box back to refill, you get a discount. linzertortes.blogspot.com
Cuckoo But in a Good Way. One of the best things about city grazing is the vast choice available. Cuckoo’s Bakery is a good example and their culinary weapon of choice is the humble cupcake. Their daily range takes pride of place in a quaint wood and glass display cabinet at the counter. The caf is beautifully finished and even has a chandelier ! Hats off to them for their boldness. The little cakes are exquisite and both they and the bakery put a smile on my face.
Love it. I love this little place, it’s a sweet little tea room of calm and deliciousness. The cupcakes are wonderful and I would eat one everyday if I didn’t have to worry about my waistline. The lunches are great; huge delicious salads and homemade soups. The staff are super friendly and the they’ve also started a stall at the Stockbridge market on a Sunday.
The best cupcakes ever!. I have been to Cuckoo’s probably at least once a week since they opened, sounds extreme but they’re cupcakes are amazing, compared to other cupcake shops they don’t taste artificial at all and aren’t sickly sweet either. I go regularly for lunches as well which are all really good, I love the smoked salmon croissant! They also did the cupcakes for my birthday last month, they were amazing! And of course the owners are literally the friendliest people ever, so definitely go there!
