FOOD – 2/5 ; Got hot and sour soup and beef, chinese broccoli yang chow fried rice and steamed prawn dumplings. Overall, the meal was so-so, although they were big servings, they were expensive for the quality of foodSERVICE – 1.5/5 ; waiters were not wearing the same uniform, some wore uniform, but most wore t-shirts and shorts. We were also given water in plastic glasses, unlike the customer in the next table, who had water in crystal glassesPRICE – 1.5/5 ; unreasonable because you are charged 3.5% when credit cards are used, and charged more if bill is less than 15 pounds

Never Ever Go – takeaways do a better job* The waiter got the wrong food and charged us for it (we had told him that it was Vegetarian, he failed to comprehend and brought the standard one). The same thing happened with some other customers as well (it was soup for them if I remember correctly).* Expensive – GBP 7.50 for shredded potato. We ended paying nearly GBP 50 for food that we did not eat.* Atmosphere – Not good at all – the staff were fighting with another customer, one of them was wearing a night pant and t shirt whilst serving.

Was in Edinburgh for 4 days and ate here twice, both i ordered the chicken and duck rice with soy sauce with their corn soup which was really tasty and perfect for the winter time as Edinburgh can be pretty cold

Terrible service. Terrible food.. My friends and I went to Hongfu because the restaurant was advertised at our hostel. The advertisement for the restaurant touted Hongfu’s quality and their handmade noodles. My friends and I decided to give it a try. We waited an hour for our food to come out while multiple tables seated after us were served. One of my friends ordered chicken curry which was ok. However, my other friend and I decided to try one of the dishes with the handmade noodles. The description of the item was beef in fermented soy sauce, a hot chili sauce, and onions served with handmade noodles. After waiting an hour for our food while the staff just sat there and looked at us, what came out was nothing like the item we ordered. The dish was simply ground beef in fermented soy sauce, disgusting noodles, and tons of cucumber. Where was the delicious spicy dish I was promised? On top of that the food was only lukewarm. Surely, it couldn’t get any worse, right? Wrong. When we got the check for our meal, the price for the appetizer we ordered was scratched out and they had penned in a new price that was three pounds higher. The server, in broken English, tried to argue with us about the price but after talking to the manager they changed it back to the price on the menu. I wouldn’t recommend Hongfu to anyone. The food is horrific and the service is even worse. I would especially caution tourists because they tried to cheat us on our ticket.

My friend and I decided to pop in to Hong Fu Noodle for lunch enticed by the lunch menu and assuming it would be on par to that offered in Glasgow but never assume! The service was painfully slow and we had to ask for a lunch menu opposed to the more expensive menu the waiter had automatically given us. It was a Thursday afternoon – not exacting swarming with customers and things only got worse when we saw other diners who had come in after us getting served their main course whilst we were still awaiting our starters. Kiss your tip goodbye! We’d been there nearly an hour when our main course finally showed up. The food was so so but definitely not worth the hour wait.Don’t let the central location fool you, this is anything but cosmopolitan. Avoid like the plague!

Went with a Chinese friend and he said the food was typical northern Chinese cuisine like he had when he grew up in China
