Latitude is really close to my work but I have only just managed to sample their lunch menu this week. The menu here is not very extensive but if you’re looking for soup and a roll for lunch, Latitude is the place for you.Me and my friend both opted for the soup and roll combination. What I particularly like about Latitude is that although they do not have a huge menu they have a number of soup options. All the soups sounded delicious but I chose the sweet corn and cheddar soup, with a tuna and cucumber roll. The soup was absolutely delicious! I am so glad I chose it, and I would certainly have it again. The roll however was quite dry, a little extra filling would have made it so much better. I am glad I had the soup to dip my roll into. It was quite quiet inside and most people seemed to only be having coffees, but I would definitely recommend the soup. The service was quick; you order up at the counter which helps it to be speedy. The staff were friendly but could have been a bit more attentive – no one came to ask if we were ok for drinks, I had to go up and ask for more water. Latitude is the perfect place to visit on your lunch break if you work near by!
Cozy and warm. I stumbled in on a visit to Edinburgh in the bitter cold. There wasn’t a table available, but the friendly staff took my name and had one available when I came back in 5 minutes. I had soup (very hearty) and a sandwich (roasted veggie and goat cheese). It was all very good and the cafe was warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!
Nice place. Don’t really agree with the negative aspects of some of the reviews submitted previously.the place is clearly being renovated along side running the business but it is a charming space and sure it will end up looking extremely stylish.the home made soup is delicious and the ingredients for sandwiches are better quality than the bog-standard sandwich shop – never had any issues with the service either.
Seemed to have potential, but…. The lunch deal seemed to be a great deal, but unfortunately this was a waste of money- the staff were very friendly, but the food was not up to standard at all- I could not actually chew the ham in my sandwich due to its toughness and the cupcake was burnt on the outside and somehow uncooked in the middle! Presentation was awful and when I asked if there was a bathroom I was told I could use it if I used the torch on my phone to see inside. Very disappointed as seemed to have potential.
So much potential. Nice ingredients but the staff are trying to spread them way too thin. I would rather pay 50p more for a properly filled sandwich/Baked potato etc.I would not recommend the pulled pork as it was blended to an inch of it’s life which was made it feel like a sauce with no meat in my baked potato, also the bp meal deal is more expensive than if I bought the three items individually from them..how does that work? This cafe has so much potential as the food tastes good, the stinginess of portions is a big drawback.
