Leo’s Beanery take their coffee seriously while being friendly and very chilled out. They use Cornwall based Hands On coffee and make it very well. Also offer a great range of yummy cakes (famed for their gluten free selection) and brunches & lunches. Big thumbs up

Absolute gem of a place hidden in the new town. Just 5 minutes away from Princes St, this place is filled with cosy wooden booths to sit in and a gorgeous array of salads, soups, quiche, sandwiches, cakes and scones to enjoy Vegetarian and gluten free options available.

Staff were absolute gems and saviours for accommodating us (a group of 16!) for a birthday brunch at such short notice. They have a lovrly room out back for these things. Brunch menu is great, with old standbys like egg benedicts and a classic fry, as well as some unusual ones like croque mon scone. Fresh bread was also a nice touch. Whole party enjoyed their food and will be back soon to try out the cakes

This is my favourite cafe in the whole city. It’s got it all; excellent salads, sandwiches, cakes, coffee. You name it. The staff are so friendly too. Definitely Edinburgh’s cafe hidden gem. juicyluciefoods.blogspot.com

Cakes and coffee are very good. Scones are also yummy – crisp and buttery! Sandwich was good without being amazing while the soup was delicious. That’s all I’ve tried so far, but keep coming back as it’s such a lovely spot.

Gorgeous wee cafe, staff were friendly and warm. I had the poached eggs which were on par with much more expensive restaurants and then the coconut, which chocolate and strawberry cake which was utterly magnificent! Will definitely be back soon.

Great Coffee!!!!!. I had a lovely smooth flat white and a piece of gluten free orange almond and polenta cake. both the cake and coffee were delicious i will definitely be back when i’m next in Edinburgh.
