Great atmosphere and lovely drinks. Our starters were fantastic and the mains were good to, although one burger was a bit over done. We got a surprise free beer with our burger which will always go down well and the gin cocktails were just scrumptious. A great place for nice food at the end of the week and you don’t need to go anywhere to find a decent bar either!

Came here for drinks with friends. Really nice inside and a massive selection of gins on offer. The person I was with knows more about gin than me and he was enjoying them with different mixers. Would recommend a visit.

My friend and I met here for lunch last week. I hadn’t been in since it’s take-over from The Standard and I have to say I was really impressed. The bar is stylish and well presented and our waitress was lovely. We had booked a table as there was rugby and football on which I’m glad we did as it was very busy by the time we left. I’m not a fan of gin, my only experience being drinking shots of Gordon’s out the cap. So I didn’t hold out high hopes of enjoying any of the cocktails. However I was glad to be proven wrong. I went for a ‘Fizzy Rascal’ – Hendricks gin, strawberries and some fizzy orange stuff that the name of has slipped my mind. It was LOVELY. I tried my friends cocktail too, which was also gin based, again it was so nice. I may have been slightly converted. For food I went with a ‘classic’ bacon and cheese burger, hand cut chips with blueberry ketchup (I know..bare with me though). The food arrived hot, well prepared, well presented and tasted great! I was convinced I’d like the blueberry ketchup but it was a nice change. Although I wouldn’t have said no to some ‘classic’ condiments being on offer. After dinner we went with a bottle of prosecco to finish. Reasonably/standard priced at 19 (ish). For our meal & drinks, plus a good tip it came to 30 pp. Reasonable for lunch, a cocktail and a bottle of bubbly.

Great place with some lovely staff and a huge selection of gin! Good is great too. Under new management, excited to see how they develop.
