The dining experience at Mark Greenway Restaurant in Edinburgh was excellent. The service was good, the food was excellent and very different from the usual restaurants in Scotland. Wine was excellent.

This year for the Edinburgh Restaurant Festival I chose Restaurant Mark Greenaway because I had wanted to try it for a while, but never had the occasion. The menu for the festival really stood out for me and I was excited to try the treacle cured halibut, slow roasted pork belly and apple tart.We were seated at a lovely little table in a corner, which made our evening feel very intimate; Restaurant Mark Greenaway is a good size because it’s not too big, but the layout helps create a more cozy feel. Sam and I chose to have the wine pairings with our meal and I’m glad we did because the pairings were fantastic and gave us a bit more information about what we were eating and drinking. The food here was not only extremely appealing for our taste buds but also for our eyes, as it is served like artwork. The ingredients used are very complimentary but also take a risk, which means no course is boring. The service was excellent and both the staff and food provided us with an extremely special evening; it ended on a sweet note when we were services salted caramel popsicles after dessert!

Wow wow and WOW. First trip to Mark Greenaway and will most definitely not be the last. Great service accompanying 3 fantastic courses. We went for the scallops to start, one served cooked and the other as ceviche with a dashi broth. Then I had the monkfish tail. The granola served with the razor clam was phenomenal. Finally I had his GBM dessert, the chocolate twist. Wine was also great. I’d even goes as far to say this is right up top ofln my favourites list for Edinburgh restaurants!

I’d bookmarked Mark Greenaway’s restaurant for a while now. The Edinburgh Restaurant Festival seemed liked a fantastic time to savour the restaurant’s offering. At 15 for 3 courses, it was an amazing deal. I was impressed by the ambience, the attention to detail and the overall service here. As we went for the ERF menu, there was no choosing to be done, it was a set menu unless you had dietary requirements. My colleague had a few and they were all accommodated very gracefully. The starter -Loch Fyne Crab Canneloni- was stunning. The smoke infusion beautiful complemented what was an exceptional dish anyway. The main was the 11 hour slow roasted pork belly which was beautifully crisp and perfectly balanced in flavours. For dessert, we had Mark’s Great Britsih Menu Knot Chocolate Tart, another stunning creation. My only regret was having to squeeze a beautiful meal in a lovely setting like this in just about an hour as I was running late from and to meetings! Highly recommended and I look forward to visiting again! quirkylifestyle.com

We are here on Valentine’s Day and it was fantastic. We went for the lunch menu and it was fantastic value for the quality of food. Everything was fresh, colourful and tasty. Don’t really have any complaints about it. The chocolate dessert was probably the highlight for me. edinburgers.co.uk
