I visited Yes Sushi for the first time recently, and had a fantastic meal. I was impressed with the sushi quality and freshness, and found the menu selection to be quite extensive. The service was friendly and prompt as well.I tried a dragon roll, salmon skin roll, and a prawn tempura roll – all of which were delicious. Most people in the restaurant seemed to be eating the hot pot – which looked and smelled amazing – so I will definitely be back to try it! ashleywanders.com

As with any other chain restaurant you know you’ll get here. The food is good for a chain and you can plan how much you want to spend based on the colour of the bowls. However, I’m always tempted to get more since the sushi is plated and goes in front of you. The free refill of a miso soup is a nice touch and I like their warm dishes, especially chicken katsu curry and chicken yakisoba. The sushi is all right but I’d normally go for the hot dishes since I find them better value. There are definitely better sushi places in Edinburgh but this Yo Sushi is just so conveniently located on Princess Street that I’d sometimes pop in while shopping. However, I woudln’t plan a proper dinner here since there are nicer Japanese places with better atmosphere in Edinburgh.

I haven’t had sushi for many years and decided to give it another go. We went for the 15.99 Makisushi and it was delicious but they kept bringing us the same dishes even although we had marked down the variety of dishes we wanted – there is only so much chicken and avocado you can eat!We went early (6:15pm) and the place was empty but within half an hour it was full. The service on arrival was great but soon became almost non-existent. We asked 5 different waitresses to help us and all of them looked at us with a blank expression, yelling something up to the front desk. They then returned to look after new customers that came in and moved tables around constantly.A small concern is the amount of extension cords that they have laying on the ground running between all the tables and across the main walk ways – this is for the hot pots. Not sure Health and Safety would approve! Apart from the bad service and the extension cords, the food is really lovely! I’d think again about returning. tartanspoon.co.uk

A very decent place , love the miso soup , deep flavour .I loved the hotpot and sushi all you can eat for 18. From the hotpot you can choose from different broths and various meats /veggies/seafood .Sushi has to be ordered one by one , you can only choose standard makis (no dragon , spider rolls etc) but overall good selection . Atmosphere is okay but pretty plain decor .The place is easy to find and a nice break away from the super busy princess street mess .All in all good experience

My new favourite place. What a cracker. Ate here last night and loved the whole experience. Yes they do sushi but if you want a unique dining experience try the hot pot. There’s a reason it is full of Chinese people. First off they give you a little laminated card and a pen where you can order two broths to cook your goodies in and a list with a selection of meats, vegetables, fish and other types of seafood and on the back a list of sushi. You have the table for two hours and you can eat as much as you want all for 17.99pp, and that includes sushi. They also have a little list of recipes for making dipping sauces to dunk your food in when you’ve cooked it. Basically you get a pot with two broths in and the raw ingredients and you just cook it yourself. By far and away my most enjoyable eating experience in a long time and really reasonably priced. Highly, highly, highly recomend. But do the hotpot, oh and it’s cash only.

Great food, great service.. Went here for a birthday meal. LOVED IT!Service was brilliant, food was really tasty and it was good to try something new. Highlight was being brought banana fritter’s and deep fried ice cream as a birthday surprise at the end of the meal. This wasnt planned. Price is great too, would definitely recommend. Worked about 20 per head with drinks, starter and main.
